When it all began
We go back 50 years to when Grandpa Corrado and his wife Dina left Poggibonsi to go to Piombino with their sons Metello and Marcello and start a wine business.
The first wine cellar was in a little rented shop. Later they bought a piece of land in the centre of the town where, in 1970, they started work on building the new cellar. After the death of Corrado in 1973, Metello, his wife Ornella and Marcello took over the business and began working at full speed. They brought the business up to being one of the biggest on the Tuscan coast. Alessandro came into the business in the 80s, working alongside his father and his uncle who had full confidence in the ‘new generation’.
Meeting Susy, who was to become Alessandro’s wife, in the 90s, was crucial to the growth of the business. Her innovative ideas and youthful outlook provided it with an inspired asset that was totally new, a new image: the future.
Today’s strong family business benefits from the help of the valued co-workers who work with the same enthusiasm and wish to improve, as the family, and together we do our best to raise the name of the Menti Family’s 3 generations higher and higher.
